Descending the final mile of the trail, the awesome view of wild ponies grazing in the bowl of the “Horseshoe” with Pen y Fan in the background was such an overwhelming feeling that I had to paint this scene. The "Pen y Fan Horseshoe" is a challenging 9-mile circular ridge walk, typically taking about 6 hours, that includes Pen y Fan, Corn Du, Cribyn, and Fan y Big. It is claimed to be the ultimate way to experience the area, displaying spectacular views of magnificent Wales.
