When the ships were moored in the bay, they would rest between two big chains on each end of ‘Dyffryn beach’ that were known as the “Bridles”. This ship, with its heavy oak beam ribs, is very visible and attracts the resident and curious tourist alike to this natural stopping off point for the all Ceredigion Coastal path walkers starting or commencing a walk.
