Mwnt is a very small community on the West Wales coast a few miles between Cardigan and Aberporth, along the Ceredigion Coast Path. It gets its name from the prominent steep conical hill rising above the beach, a landmark seen for miles, from much of Cardigan Bay. This popular beach is one of "Europe's top ten loveliest hidden beaches" and most loved by all, visitors and locals alike, for its sheltered beach and for being a regular summer home to dolphins, seals and porpoises. The Mwnt has been a very romantic setting where many people have been engaged after having been romanced by a gigantic “marry me” written on the sand and seen from the cliffs above, or by being proposed at the top of the mount with fabulous views to Cardigan island.
