This stunning farming scene is a limited edition reproduction of a pencil graphite drawing by Vladislas showing with incredibly great details a farmer working the land with shire horses and a traditional plough. Ploughs were initially human-powered but became traditionally drawn by Shire horses because of their great weight-pulling power. Shires are a British breed of draught horses that have at various times held world records both for being the largest and the tallest horses. They have been popular throughout history particularly for pulling brewer's carts delivering ale to customers. Theses gentle giants are pulling graciously the plough with harnesses decorated with horse brass which have been used to embellish harnesses since the days of Rome serving as talismans and status symbols until they developed as part of a general flowering of the decorative arts following the Great Exhibition.
This is a limited edition reproduction produced to the highest print quality and comes mounted, with a certificate of authenticity and inclusive of FREE recorded delivery in the UK.
