This view of Pwll Deri is presented by Vlad-Art from an original painting (20” x 16”) created in oil by Welsh based artist Vladislas. This remote and idyllic cliff top setting holds truly spectacular views from the memorial stone of Dewi Emrys, perched between the dramatic coast line of Pembrokeshire and Garn Fawr, the hill top that dominates the area. This location is beautifully captured with its really breath-taking cliffs and displays amazing colours of the land drenched by a sunny day between immense skies and endless seas.
Dewi Emrys was the pen-name of the west Wales poet David Emrys James (1881 –1952), who wrote in the Welsh language and whose poem, “Pwll Deri”, celebrates the character of this area. He was born in Newquay, in Cardiganshire but a memorial to him can now be seen near the village of Pwllderi on the coast of Pembrokeshire near Goodwick and Fishguard. This village was the inspiration for one of his best-known poems and the nearby memorial stone carries the following inscriptions in welsh which translates as “… and these are the thoughts that will come to you when you sit above Pwllderi …“
