Aberaeron is a little town situated between Aberystwyth and Cardigan in Ceredigion, Wales which receives a lot of attention not only from locals but from visitors all over the country. It lies on the Ceredigion Coast Path, part of the Wales Coast Path.

The architecture of Aberaeron is unusual in this part of rural Wales, constructed of elegant Regency style houses of different and bright colours grouped around the harbour. The story about these brightly painted houses, as in many little welsh ports, is that sailors and fishermen coming back from the sea, could see and check their home from far away by its different colour.

Originally, the outer harbour was developed as a port which operated and supported a shipbuilding while the inner harbour, in later years, evolved into a small half-tide harbour for recreational craft which is now the heart of Aberaeron where people gather to relax and enjoy delicious fish’n’chips and locally made welsh ice creams.
